I am a published photographer specializing in Photojournalism, Portraits, Weddings and Street Photography. In the last twenty-five years my photography has appeared in publications including New Jersey's Record Newspaper and The Star-Ledger Newspaper as well as Automobile Magazine. In 2009 my work was selected to appear in a Special Collector's Edition of The National Geographic Magazine.
I am well-versed in the use of digital cameras, lighting and imaging software. In our initial talk we can explore your level of knowledge and expertise. This process will help us establish goals as teacher and student for our lessons. In a short amount of time you will gain confidence, courage, clarity, and craft as a photographer. My hands-on teaching techniques will improve the quality of your images in the first session. I am a passionate visual storyteller and I love sharing my knowledge and experience with others.
Our hourly sessions will be finely focused and joyful one-on-one lessons. We can start with the basics and slowly explore all the functions and fun capabilities of your camera. Or, we can focus on one or more advanced areas of your choosing. We design the lesson plans together to help you achieve your goals and dreams.
Successful, satisfied photographers combine vision, style and technical know-how to creatively illustrate ideas and tell stories. Chris taught the basics of using my new camera. I feel more confidant now and am looking forward to using it. I am already looking at things with a different eye.
I am looking forward to another lesson with him and to going out into the city together to shoot.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have over 30 years of experience in photography shooting a wide range of subjects including Photojournalism, Portraits, Automotive, Landscape, Street Photography and Weddings. My deep technical knowledge, passion for light and natural teaching ability makes me a perfect candidate as a tutor. One of my goals as a tutor is to listen to the desires of the student and form a curriculum specific to their needs.
