I started tutoring as a teenager and love both tutoring and mentoring. I have been doing this for over 20 years. Much of my work comes from repeat client business and referrals. I value that students very feels comfortable utilizing me repeatedly. I average much more than 10 hours of tutoring, per client. I earned a Bachelor or Arts in Economics from Rutgers University with concentrations in Math and Stats and an MBA in Finance and International Business from New York University's Stern School of Business. I became a much better student in graduate school by becoming much more organized so I can help with this process as well and especially for those where this does not come naturally.
In 2019, I changed careers from finance, where I had been a portfolio manager and department head, to become a teacher. I was selected into the NYC Teaching Fellows and am working towards a Masters in Special Education at Hunter College. I teach special education middle school math. A few back years, I also received certification in Financial Risk Management, which has a very difficult testing process. Neither of these processes has been seamless; I have had to do many things to go outside my comfort zone.
At the same time, I enjoy developing additional tutoring relationships; I love to learn and continue to do so by tutoring. I work with both children and adults. I believe there are often several methods to learn the same task. If you are struggling to master concepts, I will work with you to see what we might be able to do together to change this. I find that we can often learn by asking questions and looking
