Parsons School of Design, NYC (BFA Fashion Design)
My love of teaching began while attending Parsons School of Design in NYC. Little did I know that when I was attending Parsons and was helping some of my fellow students that it would lead me to start teaching myself while starting my design career in Paris! I have loved teaching ever since and have always been able to teach one course while working full time in the fashion industry. I currently teach at Parsons the New School of Design at the senior level in NYC and love teaching and tutoring anyone and at age to learn how to draw and design!
I specialize in tutoring drawing and fashion illustration for the student that is interested in putting a portfolio together, applying for art or design school or just wants to understand how to put their ideas down on paper. I also work with students on the college level that are wanting more instruction and guidance through the portfolio process and internship/job search. I will work with the student on setting goals on what they want their learning outcome to be and plan assignments accordingly.
Tutoring can be arranged at my home on Long Island or in Manhattan at a coffee shop or convenient location.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have a BFA in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design in New York City. I have taught for the past 19 years at Parsons while working in the fashion industry. I have also taught modules at The American University in Paris at the Master's level in sustainable and ethical design.
A big part of illustrating fashion is using a medium such as watercolor or colored ink to depict print, pattern and texture of the fabrics. We were taught at Parsons to illustrate this way and continue to teach the students the art of painting so they can utilize the techniques for their fashion illustrations and portfolio work.
