About Noah

I am an SAT and writing tutor with three years of experience immersed in both instruction and curriculum development. As a former Kaplan SAT/ACT Tutor with an SAT score in the 99th percentile (2250 total w/ 800 in Critical Reading), I have spent hundreds of hours familiarizing myself with dozens of real SAT tests and SAT format-specific strategies. I have been working with student on the NEW SAT format since August, and have a developed a strong command of the new test structure. While a tutor, and later general manager, at a university admissions consulting company in Cairo, Egypt, I played a leading role developing SAT curricula for a variety of skill levels. Over time, I have have had the pleasure of regularly helping students improve their scores by 100 points per section.

Though I have played a number of roles as an educator, I take a special pleasure in prepping students for the SAT. The SAT is a fundamentally understandable test with a limited number of patterns and question types that can be mastered with practice. The formulaic nature of the test allows me the privilege and joy of being able to reveal a manageable and orderly structure to students who have previously seen only a confusing mess of problems.

I prepare extensively for my lessons, and I ask my students to put in work on their own also. I believe individual practice is the best way to maximize the benefit from the time I spend together with the student. During SAT prep lessons, I balance content review with test specific strategies, and, because it is ultimately all about your score, I provide regular assessments.

I am happy to offer a free one-hour consultation and evaluation for SAT students. Get in touch with any additional questions and I look forward to helping you achieve the score you want or write a remarkable essay!

The NEW SAT:
The SAT will be significantly changed for students applying to enter college in Fall 2017. I have extensively researched the new format and will continue to stay on top of new information as it emerges. I am really excited to continue making sure my students are specifically prepared for the unique nature of the test in its redesigned format.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

College Counseling

I successfully applied and was admitted to 17 top US colleges including Yale, University of Chicago, Brown, Swarthmore, and Amherst. I learned a lot about college admissions in the process.

I spent a year as a University Admissions Consultant at a boutique elite admissions consulting company in Egypt. I helped students gain admission to schools including UC Berkeley, NYU, and Boston College.
