About Tyler

My 5+ years of teaching experience span volunteer and professional teaching. Tests for which I have taught prep include GED, GMAT, SAT, SAT II, SHSAT, and MCAT. In addition, I spent a year teaching sports to individuals and groups as a professional coach.I have a broad understanding of many subjects, as illustrated by me breadth of education and experience. Through these disparate endeavors, I was able to develop deep knowledge of science (particularly chemistry and anatomy/physiology), extensive English language skills (as required for lawyers) and a broad range of strategic and presentation savoir-faire (in business school). Moreover, I have professional experience integrating this unique set of skills while consulting for major medical device manufactures.

Needless to say, I am passionate about learning, so I enjoy helping others develop academically. Since I have have a broad range of teaching experience, both in content and student-type, I have been able to adapt my style to accommodate nearly any student's need. Take a right triangle problem geometric as a very simple example. Some students prefer to map out the triangle in order to see how the angles and sides relate to each other. Other students prefer to leverage equations that can be applied to the particular type of triangle (e.g., 30-60-90 triangles). Others still prefer to have a real-life example accompany the lesson. I am comfortable with any and all of these methods to help students learn.
