About Caroline

I have a BA with Honors in English and Psychology.

I can tutor for the SAT (including the NEW SAT), in the Reading, Writing, or Math portions. I received a 690 on the reading, 790 on the writing, and 680 on the math portion. I'm also able to help with papers, essays, and anything else one might have to do in an English class.

I have a lot of experience with proofreading. I used to work as an editorial intern for a paper in the Hamptons where I proofread and wrote articles. I also worked as an editorial intern for the publishing company W. W. Norton where I proofread manuscripts. I also have experience teaching English in Paris where I worked as a conversation leader at a computer science university.

Ideally I'd meet with students either in their places of residence or in a nearby library; we could figure out what works best. I really enjoy helping students with writing and grammar so I'm very excited and eager to teach.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Very knowledgeable, patient, and helpful for my daughter.

My daughter struggles with a dyslexia-centric learning disability, identified since first grade. Now a high school junior, Caroline has been helping her with a variety of ELA, social studies, and history assignments -- anything related to reading, writing, and synthesis. Caroline has been very helpful in helping my daughter clarify her thoughts in her head so that she CAN commit them to writing.
