About Ido

I am a patient and friendly Israeli native, born and raised, teaching Hebrew to adults and teenagers. I am a former platoon sergeant in Israeli Defense Forces. I have been tutoring Hebrew for 4 years (don't let the low amount of hours on here fool you - I teach mostly by word of mouth and not through Wyzant).

Whether you wish to be able to carry a conversation with native speakers, or wish to learn how to read and write Hebrew, I can help you, and my teaching method makes learning effective and fast. I teach all levels - from beginners to advanced. I can help you get ready to impress your relatives when you come visit, or carry a conversation with Israeli friends. If you're looking to speak modern Hebrew, don't settle for the archaic Hebrew that some people teach - I can teach you the Hebrew you need to know to ensure you'll actually be understood by Israeli people.

I believe lessons should be fun, as it helps the brain retain the information. I make sure we focus on topics that are interesting to you so you can learn better and faster.

Each lesson is a minimum of two hours and I can make it as long as you wish. I request of a minimum of 4 lessons in a month period.
I'm quite flexible but I enforce a strict cancellation policy of 24 hours.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Hebrew

I'm a native Israeli, born and raised. Hebrew is my first language. I have been tutoring Hebrew to a variety of students in different levels. I've taught people who did not know a single letter/word and have become fluent, and I've taught people who spoke decent Hebrew and wanted to improve their conversation skills. I customize lessons based on the student's level but also on their goals and interests. I hold a degree in communications.

Working on improved speaking and aural comprehension

I think that the two hours we spent together were very worthwhile. Ido is a native Hebrew-speaker and was knowledgeable and pleasant.
