About Elizabeth

Dear Future Student,

Thank you for your interest in tutoring lessons!

My training in tutoring and mentoring students has been through experience in over 8 years. I have helped students through various subjects for college preparation and overcoming academic standstills in their middle school, high school, and college curriculum. Currently, I mentor and address concerns of students preparing for the NCLEX and those in nursing school currently.

Some subjects that I have worked with students in include Nursing, Spanish, SAT Essay Writing, Nutrition, Pharmacology, Math, English, and Science. Lesson plans are built individually and around student's academic ability and cater to the demand of their current teachers. Homework help is available along with the option to be taught new skills and advance current knowledge.

My specialty and passion is nursing. I tutor students in the City University of New York system, which includes allied health and nursing. Students have been able to make leaps and bounds in understanding concepts and learning how to critically think through any situation no matter how challenging or intense. Preparation for Fundamentals of Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, and Medical-Surgical topics such as Fluid Balance, Acid-Base, Nursing Process, Vital Signs, Cardiac System, Respiratory System, Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, and Neurology, are some of the major content areas that I specialize in.

Other preparation and skills set can be learned in regards to reading EKGs and understanding the basics along with Phlebotomy skills and other practical nursing tasks.

As a Registered Nurse, I also help students prepare for the NCLEX exam and learn critical thinking skills and comprehend subject matter and pharmacology. The nursing process and applying it can be challenging, but guaranteed after one session you will see how much easier and assure of your decisions will be going forward.

Please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have. My schedule is flexible and I look forward to making you reach your goals.

Best regards,

Elizabeth D, RN, CEN

Information about Lessons and Preparation for Exams:

Currently, I hold lessons online using a platform called join.me - free and easy which allows student to view my desktop where we go over content and questions for exam preparation. Analyzing studying skills and test-taking strategies is part of the lessons along with practicing critical thinking and reinforcing content. Ideally in preparation for exams it is suggested that the student take 1-2 lessons for 1-2 hours weekly up to 2-4 weeks prior to testing, depending on the student's knowledge of topic.
