About Robert

I have been a professional photographer for the past eight years. My first book was published on December 12, 2014. My second, was published in July of 2015. My third book, is currently at the printers. I have been a Teaching Assistant at ICP for the past seven years, exhibited in group shows at The Soho Photo Gallery, Galerie Protogie and Photoville, currently freelance with Irvin Simon Photographers and Lifetouch Photography, shoot events including The Bond Conference 2016, as well as working with actors and models on their head shots and portfolios. I started tutoring privately almost six years ago.

I love talking about photography and teaching photography to students of all ages. I am an expert in DSLR operations and Lightroom, proficient in basic Photoshop and InDesign. I love showing people how to leave behind the world of point and shoot and move into the manual mode on their cameras. I will show you everything you need to operate your camera, shoot your best shots, make your best pictures on your computer and then move them onto the internet or print them. I do have a 24 hour cancellation policy but will gladly schedule make up classes. I will come to you - ideal for Lightroom and Photoshop instruction - or we can take a photo walk around various New York City neighborhoods.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Knowledgeable and patient

Robert was very patient with me - as a beginning student with Lightroom I found his instruction to be perfect, not intimidating, and it really helped me grasp the material we covered. I will practice this week, and when we will meet again to delve more deeply into the editing process. I highly recommend Robert for you.
