I think WyzAnt tutoring is the greatest tool that I have seen. How can we make that work for YOU and me? You want to learn something, and I have a lot to offer:
I have been curious all my life. I love reading, learning and sharing. I love to tutor others who want to learn with me. Learning should be fun but also an exchange. I have traveled to 50+ countries and love to learn more. I have finished 25 marathons (15 in New York) am a running coach for the New York Road Runners Club and have completed Half Ironman races. In 2012 I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest point in Africa.
For the past two years I have taught at NYU in their coaching certification program. I have written a textbook for my class for "Professional coaching using sports strategies."
I grew up in Switzerland where I learned German, French, English and Spanish. I have a degree in French and Spanish when I studied the language in the local environment. Since I have been living in New York, I went back to school for a BA in psychology from Marymount Manhattan College and a MA in organizational development & leadership from Columbia University. I consider myself fluent in all languages and have degrees for it. As with the languages it is how you use them to also learn the cultures. If you like to travel it is best that you learn at least how to say thank you in each language. Terimakashi - is Indonesian for thank you. I think it took me almost three days to remember that, and now I will never forget.
For the career development I have a certification in executive coaching from Columbia University and most of my clients stand at a cross road in their lives. They are either stuck in their lives or are ready to learn something new. Career development can happen at any time in your life. I take you on a journey to see possibilities. I focus on a strength-based approach based on positive psychology and appreciative inquiry.
For the tutoring I see myself working with people who are highly motivated to learn something new. Either they want to learn a new language from scratch or they need a little tune up for their upcoming travels. I used to work for the Swiss airlines, the Swiss Mission to the United Nations and Nestle (a Fortune 100 company). For the past three years I have been a global consultant and worked globally.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
