My passion for teaching stems from a desire to share knowledge and study skills. I graduated from a 4 year combined BS/MS program in Biochemistry and received a minor in mathematics in that time. I have developed what kinds of study skills and habits lead to successful completion of advanced science and math courses.
I specialize in tutoring math and science for all grade levels, college level math (focused on calculus and linear algebra) and science (focused on general chemistry and organic chemistry), and on the math portion of the SAT, ACT, and GRE exams. When I tutor, I focus on problem solving techniques that will helps my students solve questions using critical thinking strategies rather than rote memorization. I build concepts from the ground up for my students and show them how to use their knowledge to answer problems. I have visual as well as pragmatic tools to explain abstract concepts to students in science and mathematics.
I am currently in school, but I can offer flexible online tutoring hours and in-person tutoring in Washington Heights on weekends. My three hours cancellation policy allows me to be more flexible with my students and their schedules. I encourage student feedback so I can always be the best I can be!

I graduated from Brandeis University with a BS and MS in Biochemistry through their 4-year BS/MS program. This required that I take many of the same graduate level classes as the PhD candidates and presented a thesis that constituted a significant research contribution to the field.
I studied transcription regulation mechanisms of the Lactose repressor protein and novel labeling techniques to probe the mechanism more specifically.
I graduated from a combined BS/MS Biochemistry program at Brandeis University and also received a minor in Mathematics. As part of that program I took Genetics and passed using both my science and math background. I tutored my peers in the class and showed them how to apply the math necessary for any statistical tests we were asked to do and also helped them make study guides for the biological portions of the course.
I took this course as part of my mathematics minor and received an A. I tutored my peers in the course using simpler examples to solve the more complicated problems. Linear Algebra has a lot of concept build up, so I focus on breaking down problems into smaller components before tackling each question.
I have taught Organic Chemistry for two years, both as a TA during the school year for a class of 25 students and in private sessions during the summer. I have experience teaching students in the honors section of the course as well as students struggling to follow the material on a day to day basis. I have created my own tests and quizzes for my peers to practice their knowledge of the chemistry in the course.
I have eight years of public speaking experience and two years of tutoring experience in public speaking. I have trained my peers on how to prepare a speech and effective methods for delivery. When I tutor, I focus on discussing the theoretical aspects of speech and how to use body language and presentation materials to effectively get a point across.
