Thank you for viewing my profile. As an accomplished professional, I offer tutoring services in a variety of academic fields (and in other areas of life). It is my objective to assist those serious about learning, whatever their age or circumstance. A lifetime of high academic and professional achievement has prepared me to tutor in mathematics, language arts, and the sciences.
I am a former Wall Street litigator now enjoying a more relaxed career and looking to do more of what I love most--teaching. Before attending a top law school, I studied biology and chemistry in college, graduating with a B.S. with honors. I have fifteen years of experience tutoring, including volunteer and paid experience obtained during high school, college, and law school. As a tutor, I excel in breaking down complex concepts into simple, easy-to-understand ideas. My greatest strength is understanding how my pupil thinks and knowing how to connect with him or her and pass along knowledge. I seek to empower learners, not only to understand what I am teaching, but also to understand how to learn and succeed in whatever they attempt.
I am experienced in teaching algebra, geometry, calculus, biology, chemistry, physics, writing, public speaking and presentation, as well as all elementary subjects. I have tutored pupils ranging from elementary age through college.
My number one priority is the learning experience of my pupil. As such, my rates may vary considerably depending upon the subject being taught and the amount of preparation and work required on my part. All proposals for the subject of tutoring will be considered, and rates are open to negotiation. (The rate listed is the highest rate that I would expect to charge.) Furthermore, I do not charge for initial introductory lessons or meetings within a reasonable distance from my home or work.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
