The juilliard School (Acting)
I am an award-winning Juilliard trained actor and acting coach, chosen by Backstage as one of this year's "Backstage 30: Actors on the Verge of Breaking Out." I've worked extensively in film, theatre, television, and musicals as well as being a writer, director and producer of theatre and film. I've taught at Broadway Artists Alliance, Point Park University, and University of Connecticut. I have worked with many teenagers for their school auditions and to prep for their college auditions.
Combining a strong work ethic with an encouraging sensibility, I have been successful at helping many people, kids, teens and adults, become both more skilled and more expressive as actors.
Current clients have booked leading and supporting roles in the Broadway and Touring companies of Anything Goes, Curtains, First Date, Grease, Guys & Dolls, Hair, Hairspray, Jersey Boys, Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde, Leap Of Faith, Little Women, Mamma Mia, Pajama Game, Pal Joey, Spider Man, Sweet Charity, The Color Purple, Wicked and others; 30 Rock, Army Wives, Arrested Development, Blue Bloods, Boardwalk Empire, CSI, Happy Endings, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Law & Order, The Office, and many films.
"Harris's passion for the craft and dedication to each student goes above and beyond what is expected. I know when I audition someone who has worked with Harris, I will be getting a professional, well-trained actor."
- Donna McKenna, Casting Director
"Hands down, I do my best work with Harris Doran. He won't settle for anything less than a fully-realized, fully-nuanced, fully-authentic performance. Always encouraging, always engaged, always present; never humiliating, aloof, or heavy-handed in his approach."
- Drama Desk Nominee Bryce Ryness (First Date, Hair)
"Harris helped me not to take myself so seriously - and pushed me forward so that I could get out of my own way. He's someone that I trust very much and is always a source of inspiration!"
- Natalie Joy Johnson (Kinky Boots, Legally Blonde)
"Harris has helped me to book 5 Broadway/Off-Bway shows within a 3 year period. He helps me breakdown the text, find the essence of and put my stamp on the character while always staying true and focusing on telling the story. Harris is my secret weapon! Most importantly, he makes me feel like a ROCKSTAR!"
- Bridget Berger (Jersey Boys, Curtains)

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
