Yiwei started tutoring me in SAT Subjects (Math, Critical Reading, and Writing), but over time has also helped me with AP world history, geometry, and study skills. In all of these subjects, she has helped me immensely. She is not only very knowledgeable in all of the topics that she agrees to take on, but she is also able to explain concepts clearly and in a way that is the most helpful to me. As a result of her help, I have excelled in my classes, and gotten much-needed help before major exams and projects.
Since starting tutoring, she has helped me not only in these subjects, but also with study skills, which apply to all subjects. She is not just a tutor, but a true mentor, and I am excited to continue to work with her!
Lastly, with both of our busy schedules, she has been very flexible and accommodating. She is also generally a very patient and understanding tutor, and I always feel more than comfortable asking questions until I thoroughly understand the material.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have experience working with ACT students both on an individual basis, in all subject areas. I personally scored above the 96th percentile in all ACT subject areas, and feel confident tutoring all areas equally. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have more questions!
