Columbia University (Master in Real Estate Development) (Master's)
I am a recent graduate of Columbia University, majoring Real Estate Development. Currently, I'm working as a financial analyst.
I have been tutoring math since college. During my senior year of college, I helped many friends and friends' friends preparing GMAT.
My tutoring starts from listening. Knowing students' goal, schedule, strengths and weaknesses allows me to tailor my tutoring to help them maximize their scores. Friendly and patient, I am able to explain clearly, from most basic concepts to extremely complicated problems. Mostly, I focus on helping students understand the theory and logic behind all the problems. However, if the time is extremely limited or the logic is too hard for students to understand, I can also provide tricks and shortcuts. I can always be easily reached by phone or email if students have any questions after classes.
I took GMAT twice. I scored 730/96%(Verbal 38/83% Quantitative 50/92%) for the first time and 760/99%(Verbal 42/95% Quantitative 51/98%) for the second time.
I spent months preparing GMAT and became very familiar with test makers' logic.I took it twice because I was very nervous during the first time and thought I could do better. Between those tests, I just trained myself to stay calm and control the pace. So if students have similar problems in their exam, I can also share with them my strategies.
I am a native speaker. To be honest, I have no experience in teaching foreigners. However, if students have study materials to follow or just need extra practice with a native speaker, I am willing to help.
I welcome students to contact me in advance to specify what they are looking to make all the classes as productive as possible. I am a recent graduate of Columbia University, majoring Real Estate Development. Currently, I'm working as a financial analyst.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I took the GMAT twice and got 730 and 760 respectively, which helped a lot to get into Columbia University.
Having spent several months studying for this test, I mastered pretty much all the knowledge and tricks to nail it.
All of my friends say I have a great personality and am extremely patient. I'm very glad to help anyone who is willing to nail the test and get into their dream school.
