My name is Fabiola and I am currently the Lead NYC 6th Grade Science Planner for Achievement First – a charter school network that is based in New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. This year I was the top scoring science teacher in the entire network on the 6th grade end of year exam.
I am entering my 4th year as a teacher and am a Teach For America Alumni. I hold a Bachelors from the University of Notre Dame, a Masters for Columbia College in Chicago, and graduated with Distinction with a Masters in Education from Hunter College.
I have distinctly taught 6th and 7th grade Science during my three years of teaching.
I am also very apt in elementary/middle school Math and History.
I approach learning based on the needs of the child based on the Theory of Multiple Intelligences - how I work with a child depends on how they learn best.
For science, I like teach using inquiry through the use of experiments, demonstrations, readings, and videos.
I hold myself and my students to a high standard and expect them to work as hard as I am for their future.
