Empathetic, caring tutor with very strong listening and communication skills.
My style has been described as patient, calm, and also passionate. I use well-honed analytic abilities (Kellogg MBA) to readily identify the challenges a student has with the material (please see wide range of subjects) and help him/her to realign their thinking to better understand and correct areas of difficulty. As I take a limited number of students, I can truly focus on your student's areas of opportunity to encourage mastery of the subject.
As a certified executive coach, I enjoy language, writing and everything related to development, working with children and adults to help student skills evolve. I assist a wide range of learners comprising all personality and learning styles, employing understanding from the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and Neuro-Linguistic Programming to identify optimal approaches. Direct yet supportive style encourages learning and self-awareness; humor and warmth keep learning fun.
I look forward to meeting you. Empathetic, caring tutor with very strong listening and communication skills.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been an executive search consultant for the past 19 years and have counseled thousands of people on career development. Moreover, I am a certified executive coach and have been a paid career and executive coach for 10 years.
I have been a college career counselor/coach at a leading national college (Barnard) since January 2014. During that time, I have counseled over 70 students (freshman through seniors, domestic and international) and have advised them on career development. This work entails resume and cover letter preparation, thank-you notes, career strategy, offer negotiations, etc. I have guided students on both internships and full-time jobs, helping them identify resources (such as LinkedIn and other sites) to assist them in their job searches.
In my executive coaching practice (since 2001) I have also advised several students about getting into college, writing essays, completing applications, etc.
I am a seasoned public speaker. For example, I have presented at two global conferences for an hour apiece. Additionally, I have participated on panels, guest-spoken at an NYU course, presented at the top non-specialized public high school in New York City, led leadership development training at the Associated Press, etc. I am very comfortable speaking in front of groups and giving feedback/coaching around this area.
