Hello, I am a local tutor looking for great students. I work one-on-one to determine a student's needs. I have taught the SAT and have tutored students for a bar exam. I am proficient in Math through Calculus 2. I am also proficient in grammar skills. As a tutor, I find that students who struggle are usually missing a core building block concept that prevents them from understanding a further concept. I work to identify the missing gap, and fill it in! I also find that students learn in different ways, and explaining things with pictures and games is one way to help a student understand what was originally hard for them to conceptualize.
I prefer to work at schools or libraries, and students who are under 18 must have a parent or guardian remain in the general area. If you are seeking a tutor for a bar exam, I only provide tutoring for students who are enrolled in a bar review course. I do not provide materials on my own for any student. All students must have study materials that they are working from and need help with.
I graduated with a BA in Journalism and Economics from the University of Maryland College Park in 2003, and I graduated from the University of Miami School of Law with a JD in 2007, magna cum laude. I have experience teaching the SAT for Kaplan Test Prep, teaching Business Law for the University of Phoenix, and tutoring for a bar exam. I enjoy working with students and helping them figure out the concepts they are missing. I like that light-bulb moment.

I charge an hourly rate consistent with the professional level of the subjects that I specialize in tutoring in.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
