I am a CELTA certified teacher of English. I have taught group classes as well as private, one-to-one lessons and tutoring sessions. I have taught mostly adults and older teenagers, and prefer to work with those age groups. Prior to teaching I spent a number of years in business as a technology sales and marketing executive.
I have a strong command of all basic English functional skills and structures: I can help a student speak, write, read, and hear English better and improve their grammar and pronunciation. I love the English language and I love helping others discover the pleasure of using it well. I have worked with business executives from China, France, Russia, Columbia, Brazil, and many other countries who needed to improve their English skills for professional reasons. I have worked with others who needed to pass an English competency test such as the TOEFL, or who simply wanted to enjoy life in an English speaking country. I use many different tools and sources in my teaching from level appropriate course books to authentic sources such as movies, music, podcasts, news articles and more.
Speaking, reading, writing and listening to English is an important, even vital skill for anyone today, but most of all it is a great pleasure and satisfaction. English will enrich your life; I can help you reach your goals and experience the gifts that come with improving your English skills.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
