I love writing, and I truly enjoy helping students develop a great final product. One of my favorite things about working as a writing tutor is getting to know my students and hearing their stories.

I meet students where they are, targeting my feedback to improve the piece of writing at hand. As a skilled writer and editor, I can provide advice to bring out each student's voice and build writing skills that will transfer to future projects.

I have experience working with clients in middle school, high school, college, graduate school, and the professional world. College application essays are a particular specialty of mine, so I know the best ways to approach an essay prompt and how to squeeze everything into your word limit.

About Me
As someone who loves learning and problem-solving, I enjoy engaging with students-- and I find that my enthusiasm helps students enjoy our sessions, too! I graduated with honors from Princeton University in June 2010 with a BA in English and certificate in Theater, and I graduated from Columbia Law School in May 2019 as a James Kent Scholar.

I received a Certificate in Theater as my secondary major, which involved studying both theater production and dramatic literature. After participating in an independent student-run theater throughout college, I have worked for three years in respected, innovative, and popular theater companies in New York City and the New England area. I have experience teaching acting, directing, and playwriting. I have extensive knowledge of theater games and techniques.

I minored in Theater in college, which required me to take several acting classes. This contributed to my public speaking knowledge by teaching me techniques about how to be comfortable speaking in front of people and how to communicate effectively. Since college, I have worked as a teacher, including teaching acting. I can teach techniques for both the internal and external aspects of public speaking. "Internal" would include ways to remain calm and comfortable, things to focus on while speaking. "External" includes things like speaking at the right pace, enunciating clearly, and how to present yourself physically while speaking. In addition to my experience with the performative and communication aspects of public speaking, I also have experience with crafting remarks for public speaking. For 2.5 years, I worked at a college where part of my job was to write remarks for the president and vice president. Some examples included a speech delivered each year at a military tribute service (commemorating alumni of the college who served in the military), remarks at dinner events, and remarks for awards ceremonies. For each of these, I crafted remarks that were geared toward entertaining and communicating a clear message.
