Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

In 2005, I received my MBA from NYU's Stern School of Business with a double major; Information Systems and Management. I have 15+ years of experience working in business at companies such as IBM, United Health Group, EmblemHealth, and Texaco Headquarters.

I have studied the cello since I was 8. My training includes weekly lessons and my teacher was the 1st chair cellist with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. In addition to weekly lessons, I was a member of the elementary, junior high and senior high school orchestras. I have experience giving lessons to students of various skill levels.

I've played chess competitively at both the state and national level since I was 5. I studied under a National Grand Master and won the 1988 Minnesota State Chess Championship and placed 3rd in the Women's State Championship at age 14.

I coached an elementary school's chess club and gave one on one mentoring. United States Chess Federation (USCF) membership was obtained to gain a national rating to play in rated tournaments.

Differential Equations

During my undergraduate B.S. degree program in Applied Mathematics, I successfully completed graduate level coursework in Differential Equations, Partial Differential Equations, 5 Linear Algebra including Abstract Algebra, Calculus through Calc. 12, Mathematic Modeling and Engineering Mathematics to name a few.

I scored a 720 on the SAT Math portion of the exam out of 800.

MBA MACRO & MICRO ECONOMICS coursework success. I also tutored fellow students struggling with passing their MBA Economics classes.

General Computer

I have worked in the Information Technology industry in New York for 15+ years. In addition to planning and implementing large scale systems, my mentoring style and interpersonal skills have resulted in being requested for tutoring, teaching and support for CEOs and executives of worldwide companies.

Linear Algebra

While obtaining my undergraduate B.S. degree in Applied Mathematics, I successfully completed 4 master's level Linear Algebra courses. I tutored my fellow classmates in individual and group settings. I was a point of contact for the class attendees as I mastered the material quickly and could break it down to a level that the students could understand and succeed.

Microsoft Project

I am a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a member of the Project Management Institute. Microsoft Project is the tool I have used for Entreprise-wide IT projects to schedule, track, and manage project activities/tasks and resources assigned. Advanced management includes estimating both the schedule and costs and then, using MS Project to manage changes in scope, dates, and other project variables to deliver the final product on time and within budget.

My background in piano began at the age of 5 and included musical theory, State Competitions, Syllabus Levels 1-7, accompanying choirs, studies of the musical periods and putting those into practice. 7 time winner of the MMTA (Minnesota Music Teachers' Association) State competition.

Track & Field

I was the number 1 runner on my high school's varsity cross-country team and long distance track & field team. I achieved a top 26 ranking at the state championships and top 5 in the conference. Each year I obtained all-conference honors and won 8 varsity letters, plus 3 more in skiing.

I was voted captain of the track & field team by my teammates. Learning how to successfully motivate and support fellow runners was a direct result of having an awesome coach!
