“**Excellent Tutor**”

I believe people learn by doing, and whether I am teaching in the classroom, or tutoring one-on-one, I focus on practicing concepts to build confidence and understanding. My job as a tutor is to help my students become independent. I make sure to offer strategies for organization and note-taking, so that my students can transition to being more

Ayelet is super organized and super knowledgeable and most importantly very good at getting the material across in a way that my daughter understands. My daughter (11th grade) feels much more prepared for math exams (pre-calc) after her sessions with Ayelet.

I needed help preparing for a differential equations final and Ayelet has done a spectacular job of preparing me to take the final. She is patient and explains things very clearly. I had a full understanding of each subject that gave me difficulty after I attended sessions with her. I 100% recommend Ayelet as a tutor. She is the Best!!!

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I hold NYS certification in high school math, and I have a Masters in Adolescent Mathematics Education from Hunter College.

I am qualified to teach differential equations - I was required to take an in depth college course in differential equations as part of my engineering physics degree, and then, when I took higher level physics and electrical engineering courses, as part of my undergraduate degree, I constantly used what I had learned in my differential equations class. This background has given me both an in depth understanding of the subject, and an appreciation for its real world applications.

I am qualified to teach linear algebra - I was required to take an in depth college course in linear algebra as part of my engineering physics degree, and then, when I learned quantum mechanics, as part of my undergraduate degree, I constantly used what I had learned in my linear algebra class. This background has given me both an in depth understanding of the subject, and an appreciation for its real world applications.

I have a Bachelors degree in Applied Physics from Cornell University, and I am currently a PhD student, studying physics at Columbia University. I hold NYS certification in high school math, and I have a Masters in Adolescent Mathematics Education from Hunter College.
