I am really great with kids -- I have 3 of my own. I have been tutoring for 20 years. I have tutored English and Math in High School, as well as newly arrived Immigrants to the States getting ready to take their TOEFL exams. At NYU, I tutored in the writing workshop and edited papers on various topics. I also helped those students who needed help with their assignments in terms of Research and ideas. I am patient. I am fluent in Russian (native speaker), German (attended Junior High there), and English. I have a degree from NYU in Journalism and an MBA from Fordham. I am in NYC. I would love to assist you to a level where you want to be.
I have personally taken the TOEFL and the SAT test when applying to NYU -- I was accepted and graduated. I love languages in general and writing in particular. Writing is my hobby and am currently writing a book. I know that's not cool. LOL. I am really great with kids -- I have 3 of my own. I have been tutoring for 20 years. I have been using WyzAnt service for a long time, and by far Ella was the best help. She helped me with multiple papers and even resumes. With her help I was able to get an A in my class. I was impressed with her attention to details and her knowledge. I will definitely get back to her! Thank you Ella!
I had the pleasure of taking a Russian class with Ella last Sunday. I found her to be very professional, patient, punctual, and exactly the type of tutor I have been looking for. Not only did Ella introduce me to the Russian alphabet in the first class, but she also explained a little of the Russian culture. I highly recommend Ella as a Russian tutor not only for the adult student but any age group. I am really looking forward to more lessons!!!
With patience, intuition and a good sense of how a student learns best. In my case I am a visual person and learn best with motives to the letters and words. I was a total stranger to Russian just two weeks ago, but the alphabet is already sinking in and I can read words with little hesitation. This because Ella has great material for that purpose and I thoroughly enjoyed the first two lessons and looking forward to the next. I can recommend Ella as a teacher anytime.
For this first lesson in Russian diction I met Ella in a public place. It was quiet enough so that I could make a useful audio recording. I tried to imitate her pronunciation and she made corrections. I thought the lesson was very useful. I have my work cut out for me but I will definitely continue with Ella on this project.
She helped me to solve my problem, and corrected the grammar in the research in about two hours, she accepting me in the same day of my due research. She is very helpful.
In my opinion, I think Ella is probably one of the best tutor I experience so far. She very knowledgeable about the subject she tutor. It seems she love what she does. So far I never had any problems when I contact her she always response quickly. She also give me great tips on how I can be better on the subject she tutor me on. I can definitely recommend to anybody who looking for great services.
Thank you so much! I do love to tutor!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am an avid writer. I majored in Journalism at NYU. I help with College Essays in the Community and for those who need it. I also draft letters on a daily basis (mostly work related to HR/Employee issues). Since I have a son in College and a daughter in Junior High I tend to read their writing assignments as well. Writing is a habit. The more you do it, the better you get. Try reading your essay out loud is my first advice!
I am a Russian native speaker. I continued my education in the Russian Language and Literature at NYU. I have also volunteered at a local Community Center to teach Russian to children. The kids varied in age from 5 to 12 years old. I have also translated documents professionally from Russian to English and vice verse. I continue to read and write in the language as well as the translation of official documents.
