I love the culture of New York and love the challenges that comes with it. I know your challenge is getting to know someone you can trust when learning a new language and I can help you reach your goals.
My path into teaching started when I tutored children in Math and English at Sunset Park, Brooklyn NY. Continuing this path I was able to immerse working with not only children but also with adult population.
I joined National Park Service as a Spanish Intern Interpreter and then I became a Lead Intern Interpreter. By the end of my internship I received two Americorp awards for successful completion.
I am a tutor who loves to support the community so I joined "Rotaract at the United Nations." Rotaract at the United Nations is the only community-based Rotaract program in New York City which is sponsored by Rotary of New York where the core mission of the club is to help children and education.
Through the Rotaract club I attended a conference called "Rotary Young Leadership Awards" (RYLA) in 2014 at Washington D.C. I networked with Rotarians and Rotaractors from around the world where I was trained on leadership, conflict resolution, communication skills, community and global citizenship.
Along aside I worked for NYC Board of Elections during the years of 2012 to 2015. I worked per diem as a translator and Chair person/Inspector.
I did some graduate school for Spanish Teaching at Brooklyn College where I did classroom observations and student teaching.
I am currently working as Bilingual Advocate Counselor/tutor for a NYC public school in Brooklyn.
In my free time I love to play soccer and bike.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
