About Michael

I am currently a fourth year medical student at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.

I graduated from Brown University with a 4.0 GPA and have extensive basic science, math, and verbal reasoning experience.

I specialize in MCAT and SAT prep. I scored a 43 on the MCAT, placing me in the 99.99th percentile of test takers. While I was preparing for the exam, I picked up a bunch of tricks and strategies that helped me to do well on test day. I have tutored students in biology, organic chemistry, physics, general chemistry, and verbal reasoning for many years.

I scored a 2370 on the SAT and learned excellent problem solving strategies for that test as well. I have tutored several students in all three sections of the SAT.

Before meeting with my students, I create customized note sheets, problem-solving guides, and practice problem sets so that students can attack their weak areas and develop strong fundamental knowledge. I also make myself available at all times so that students can call or email me whenever they have questions.

I tailor my tutoring methods to best serve each individual student. If you work with me and put in the time, you will succeed in achieving your academic goals.

I can also help with college and medical school admissions. I've helped pre-med students earn acceptances to top medical schools including Harvard Medical School, Stanford School of Medicine, and NYU School of Medicine. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in working together!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

MCAT

I took the MCAT and scored a 43, putting me in the 99.9th percentile. I have tutored MCAT prep for several years and have learned the most effective test strategies. I specialize in Biology, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, and Verbal Reasoning so I can field questions in any of those areas. I also know the best materials to use for the most efficient studying.

If you are hoping to ace the MCAT, look no further. I can help you to perform your best on test day.

Organic Chemistry

I earned A's in both Organic Chemistry 1 and 2. After taking orgo, I tutored several students who all have performed excellently in the course. I know the best practice problems and useful ways to practice for midterms and finals. I will give you tips on visualizing mechanisms, learning general trends, and applying topics to chemical reactions. I'll help you to master class material so that you can crush the curve on your exams.

Physics

Physics encompasses several theoretical concepts and requires that you apply these topics to practical problems. I can help you to understand difficult physics topics such as rotational kinematics or electromagnetism using different problem solving skills and techniques.
