Summer Film Tutor
Summer Film Tutor
My name is Matthew Infante and I am a junior film major studying at the University of Michigan. I have a strong passion for film making and I love watching movies in my free time from any genre, year, country etc. I also enjoy the the creative process in whatever form, which also allows me to be very open to ideas when it comes to thinking about what kind of film to make or how to execute the production of it. I am still learning so much and I love being able to pass along whatever knowledge or skills I have acquired in my experience here at school to other passionate, enthusiastic filmmakers.
I am currently involved with a student club called M-agination, where students of all ages join and have a chance to write scripts that will eventually be made into movies. All students are open to choosing the specific position they want as well as working with new people all the time. Just this year, I assisted a freshman who wanted to write and direct a story she wrote called "Instant Message." As the director of photography, I helped guide her through the visual aspect of storytelling, which was challenging and exciting considering there was very little dialogue. Once the movie was finished, everyone involved in the production came out with more know-how and confidence in the way a large group can function efficiently under high pressure situations, while still keeping composure.
I have also had experience in lighting design, editing, and briefly working on two professional sets two summers ago. Last summer I worked with my high school film teacher and an experimental film and theater director named Sung Hwang Kim on a one month production in Amsterdam, NL called "Some Left." This summer I am thankful to have the opportunity of teaching 30 students in Ethiopia the process of film making from writing to post production. By the end of the six weeks, we will have made 3 short films.
Thank you for your time and stay passionate!
Matthew hasn’t set a schedule.
