A go-to MS PowerPoint and Apple Keynote expert capable of positively impacting the bottom line of major corporation and Fortune 500 clients, I am eminently qualified to educate clients and students alike on the capabilities and functionality of presentation software. I am used to instructing every type of student, from those with intermediate skills who want to perform better to those who have never even opened the program. There are usually several ways to perform the same task while creating a presentation. But the key to using PowerPoint and Keynote quickly and efficiently is to set up tools on the toolbar to make the most common procedures of the software both quick and easy. I go at the student's own pace and there is no question too "stupid." I am very patient and friendly -- I remember 20 years ago being a bit intimidated and overwhelmed myself when first starting out. So I try to make the process of learning as painless as possible. Even enjoyable. I provide images and printed material to keep as reference and to help reinforce what the student has learned.
For students interested in going beyond the basics and creating advanced presentations with graphics, animation, audio, and video, I am able to provide instruction in these disciplines, be it Photoshop, Illustrator, or QuickTimePro as they relate to creating high-end presentations. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a marketing professional with a 17 year record of success creating marketing materials for major corporation and Fortune 500 companies. Software skills include Photoshop, Illustrator, and high-end multimedia Apple Keynote and MS PowerPoint presentations. In particular I am able to help Photoshop students master the basics of Photoshop, including the tools on the toolbar, working with layers and layer effects, file formats and sizes, silhouetting, duotones, type, color retouching, repurposing/editing images on the web, and more.
I am a computer graphics professional with a 17 year record of success working for major corporation and Fortune 500 clients. I am completely fluent on both Windows and MacIntosh, I can help you learn how to browse the internet, save Favorite sites so you can easily return to them, navigate e-mail, create and save documents, and just about anything else a novice computer user may need to know. There was a time when I was a newbie myself and intimidated by technology. No question is too stupid or silly. I will give you the kind of answers that I would have liked to have received when I was just starting out. I am very patient and friendly. After a few sessions with me you'll feel empowered to get around your computer with ease. I am also very happy to help first-time Mac or Windows users who have changed but were long used to the other platform. I can help you navigate through that maze as well because, as I mentioned, I am fluent on both :)
A lot of people THINK they know PowerPoint and can muddle through, doing things the slow way at best, or absolutely the wrong way at worst. The key is the setting up of the Quick Access toolbar in such a way that you'll be able to fly through operations that previously were either klunky or just plain impossible otherwise. I will not only show you how to set up your toolbar but I will provide an illustrated key showing you what each of them do. Not knowing what tools do what or where they're located while trying to learn PowerPoint is like trying to speak whole sentences in Greek before you've even learned the alphabet. Although I'm a whiz after 20 years, I will teach you with as much time and patience as you need. That is, no question is too stupid, and I remember how intimidating it all was when I first started. Teaching you from that perspective, I will help you put all the pieces together until they make sense.
