About Violetta

I graduated from University in Russia with a degree in Electrical Engineering and worked for years in Information Technology. My passion for teaching comes from my love of learning. My interests are broad, and I have a versatile mind, developing new observations encompassing Art, Theater, Music and especially Literature, all of which I have loved all my life.

I currently work in school systems (K-12) tutoring students in various subjects. My passion for Math and Science brought me to the school setting and I enjoy tutoring students and sharing my knowledge with them.

Most importantly, I will teach a student how to solve the problem and how to think of the solution. Anyone can pick up study guides and practice exam books and go through it while checking their work with solutions at the back. However, the book doesn't tell you what you are doing wrong or how to improve yourself. If you want to be sure to do well on your first attempt, I will teach you how to approach problems, techniques, timing and approaches that cannot be found in any one single study guide but rather a compilation of years of experience and expertise.

I have always believed that Math develops our logical thinking and helps us in many life situations.

I tutor students in Geometry, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Precalculus and Computer Science courses including SQL, MS Access, and queries writing.

In addition, I have a deep understanding of Russian Literature and Russian History as I have read extensively in these areas--especially Leo Tolstoy, Ivan Turgenev, Michael Bulgakov, all of whom are my favorite writers...and I apply their respective outlooks to our present time.
The meaning of Russian soul (dusha) goes deep and profound and is vital to the understanding of these writers. Whether it takes a Russian to understand this, I cannot say and leave to others.

Taylor, I am sorry that our session did not improve your skills. The topic - trigonometric equations requires a lot of practice by solving problems. Yo need to have all formulas in front of you, and then chose that makes sense to substitute in your expression. Then you will have complex fraction with trigonometric functions and you need to find the common denominator and to apply division and multiplication of fraction. It is very easy to make mistake. You need to memorize the sin, cos of special angles 30, 45, 60.
I think, you are very capable of doing it. Good luck with your test. You can also submit your question online and I can explain you the solution in steps. It is always free.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 2

Experienced in Algebra 2 tutoring (vertex, inequalities, graphs, slope, etc).

Geometry

I try to make it easy for students to comprehend the basic of Geometry. Geometry is not only about theorems and postulates - it can be a real life problem to calculate certain values, and it could be fun.

Russian

I am working in school systems (9-12) tutoring students in various subjects. I am a native speaking Russian with deep knowledge of grammar, semantic and punctuation of Russian language. I have a good understanding of students learning abilities with communicating to all level of skills.

She is obviously very intelligent but I had a hard time keeping up with her steps and I feel like I did not improve.
