I have a PhD in history from Harvard University, a masters from the University St Andrews in Scotland, and a BA from the University of Notre Dame.

I am a passionate teacher, having taught students from elementary school through college. I am especially enthusiastic about working with students one-on-one. I am interested in teaching a variety of subjects, and I especially look for ways to make students engaged with subjects that are not initially their favorite subjects. I am also committed to teaching students test prep, especially test-taking strategies and tips for managing nerves. Outside of school, I am an avid amateur musician and chef.

Art History

Having taken the AP Art History exam in high school, I then continued on to study the subject as one of my majors at Notre Dame. I have taken classes covering all major periods, although I am particularly interested in the 20th century and ideas of modernity. I know how challenging art history can be--and how much memorizing is involved--but I would be happy to help anyone in need of tutoring in the subject, since I find it a fascinating and rewarding discipline.

Geometry,

Geometry

Geometry can be tricky, but it is also exciting for students who do not like math, since there are so many real-world examples that can be used. For my students, I focus on the particularities of how they approach math--through proofs, analogies to real life, etc--and develop a curriculum around their strengths.
SAT Math,

SAT Math

I have taught SAT and ACT test prep to over 2 dozen students at all levels. I think the most productive and successful test prep methods are personalized to each student's skills, interests, and areas in which they can most improve. Therefore, I develop a unique test prep plan for all of my students to maximize their success.

ACT Math,

ACT Math

I have taught ACT test prep for students at all levels for over two years. Especially with the ACT, it is important to master the content and also learn to think creatively to use the given information to find the correct answers. With these big ideas in mind, I develop unique plans for each of my students to achieve their test goals.
