I am a highly experienced professional man with a postgraduate education as well as a CPA and MBA. Currently, I am an executive with a large organization by day and during evening and weekends I work with a wide variety of students of all ages including adults in Math-Pre-algebra, Geometry, Algebra and Trigonometry for homework, Regents, GED preparation, ASVAB preparation, SAT and ACT preparation. Other students have worked with me over the years in English, reading and vocabulary skills for both test preparation and homework and classwork skills. Beginning and intermediate accounting and finance students have worked with me to sharpen their business, accounting and bookkeeping skills as well as their ability to write persuasive documents.
Many students have written me, called me, emailed and texted me after their big exams and coursework was completed to say "I just received my course grade and achieved an A! I really don't think that I could have done it without your help." Our work together is a partnership and if you are willing to put in the time and effort, then I will help to get you to where you want to be.

Subsequently reading Ted's background information on Wyzant's Web site, I knew Ted would be the chosen tutor, and my intuition did not prove me wrong, as he is exactly what he says he is, and that is, extremely knowledgeable in his field with maturity, professionalism, punctual, patience, and above all, a good listener to my son. Ted, just so you know, my son was really happy with your way of teaching. He learned, and felt comfortable with you.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been in the accounting profession for a few decades including senior management positions at the VP and controller level. This has given me the unique ability to teach junior staff as well as get involved with the day to day preparation of financial statements and reporting.

Have over 10+ years of working with students of all age groups on elementary mathematical concepts and applications. These topics include fractions, ratios, area, percentages, word problems, probability and many others, It is important to build from a solid foundation prior to going on to advanced mathematical applications in algebra, geometry, trigonometry and precalculus. My work with so many students has helped to give them this solid underpinning and understanding of how to effectively perform these applications by example after example.
I have been working with students in geometry for many years; particularly on Regents preparation and review studies. Since Geometry is such a comprehensive course, it is necessary to review many theorems and postulates that come up during the course. Often, the work takes us back to Algebra as well and using some of the concepts learned in earlier grades.
