About Seunghae

I am a lyric soprano and I studied voice at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome, Italy.
After receiving my BA, I worked as an apprentice voice teacher at the Conservatory for 2 years. My dream was to become a performer, I participated in Master classes with famous classical singers, Carlo Bergonzi, Renata Scotto, Giuseppe Taddei.
I had 2 master classes with Mr. Daniel Ferro from Julliard music school at Accademia Chigiana in Siena and later in Spoleto.
I made my first debut in Seoul Korea, the role of Lauretta from Opera Gianni schicchi by Puccini.
I sang many operas in both big and small Opera Theaters in Italy and Europe.

I have been performing in New York area the last 8 years.
I had my Recital at Weil Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall and many concerts at the Auditorium at the Donnell Library.
I also understudied the role of CioCio Sang in Madama Butterfly by Puccini in Pennsylvania and recently I auditioned for The Opera Festival of Rome and won the role of Adina from L'Elisir d'Amore by Donizetti, later performing it as part of the festival program.

I am currently working at Parliamo Italiano, Italian Institute in New York city.
I am fluent in Italian, Korean and English. I have experiences working as an Interpreter.
I have taught vocal technique privately to children and adults, beginners and professionals.

Through my experiences studying music over 25 years, I encountered many teachers who guided me through some difficult times of my carrier. I can count only few who really guided me to the right way. Thy are experienced, patient and unique ability to share their personal insight into how to solve problems that we had both encountered.

My teaching style is characterized by a dynamic, patient and empathetic approach to the subject.
I have genuine resources that I can offer to the students.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
