I come from an interesting background of an Italian American mother who spoke Spanish at home because she learned it to teach in American schools and now has more than 30 years as a bilingual guidance counselor and my Sephardic Jewish father who often spoke Ladino to me and with my mother. My third year of university was spent in Guadalajara as an exchange student. This is where my life changed drastically. I made it my goal to be the exact same person I am in Spanish as in English - a goal I have achieved. I ended up spending 2.5 years in Guadalajara developing relationships that are as strong today as when I made them over 10 years ago. Upon reaching such a goal the residual benefits have been virtual native fluency, undetectable accent, knowledge and familiarity with colloquialisms and different uses of words in different countries to name a few. In addition to a life navigated in English as a full time resident of the US, I have another life virtually navigated completely in Spanish with loved ones from several Spanish speaking countries. In my career, I have been the trusted Spanish speaking representative and public speaker for companies I have worked for. I have found myself as the Spanish speaking spokesperson on projects where traditional native Spanish speakers were also involved. I have sat in front of perspective home owners, parents, museum directors, CEOs, undocumented members of the community in need of vital immigration services and clients in various industries. Currently, in addition to tutoring, I perform as emcee for an entertainment company in which I serve at weddings and sweet sixteens conducted almost completely in Spanish.

Guitar

I have been playing guitar for over 10 years and I have been a member of several fun and thriving groups as well as a happy and humble participant singing on the beach around fire or at a party. I am well versed in many genres, songs, music theory, scales and accompaniment. Allow me to help you reach your guitar playing goals, whether it's playing a long solo or just strumming with the sing-a-long. You'll learn mechanics, tuning, MANY chords, scales and more - let me know your guitar goals. It could also just be for pure playin' around and fun!
