Hi, I'm Iain, and I'm currently an undergraduate student at New York University.
As a writing tutor, my proficiencies encompass a wide breadth, ranging from literary analysis and creative writing to historical evaluations and the dreaded SAT. These skills stem from years of experience, from being a professional editor to a passionate creative writer since childhood.
I enjoy working with all age groups, regardless of experience or proficiency, as I have experience working with children and adolescents, mainly as a tutor to students and as a brother to my younger sister, and adults, mostly as an editor.
I've always been driven by a relentless desire to achieve excellence and individuality in my writing, reading analysis, and editing - characteristics which no doubt carry into my teaching. I approach tutoring with an open mind with respect to all learning types and cognitive needs and seek to maintain a focused, enjoyable, and immersive learning experience.
Ultimately, I focus on fostering a keen eye for detail and focus on balancing excellence in writing with an appreciation for nuance, individuality and substance.
I have years of experience in writing, reading, and tutoring. These include: being the current editor and a writer for SIWA (Seoul International Women's Association), tutoring Korean students in studying the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), and having received recognition for giving excellent feedback in peer tutoring. I received 1530 on the SAT, with 760 in SAT reading and writing.
Please don't hesitate to contact me! I'd absolutely love to hear from you, and look forward to making a correspondence!
