Since I became a teacher in 1980, I have taught Social Studies at the Middle School level from 1980-83.
When I left Middle school in 1983, I moved onto Salesian High School where I taught Social Studies from 1983 until 2009. I taught Global Studies- regents, U.S. History-regents, American Government, and all three Advanced Placement History classes.
After I left high school in 2009, I have continued to teach American, European, Western and non-Western Civilization, Global History, American Government, and Sociology at Iona College, Rockland and Westchester Community Colleges. Since I became a teacher in 1980, I have taught Social Studies at the Middle School level from 1980-83.
When I left Middle school in 1983, I moved onto Salesian High School where I taught Social Studies from 1983 until 2009. I taught Global Studies- regents, U.S. History-regents, American Government, and all three Advanced Placement History
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Since I taught American History at the Middle School and High School level for 29 years, I am highly qualified to teach the subject.
When I taught high school, I taught U.S. History Regents for 25 years and many of my students passed the U.S. History Regents with high scores.
I also taught Advanced Placement U.S. History for five years.
Since I moved on to college, I primarily teach U.S. colonial history, 19th and 20th century U.S. History.
Since I taught high school from 1983 until 2008, I have many years of experience in teaching European History.
When I taught high school, I taught Advanced Placement European History from 1996 until 2005 and again from 2012 until 2013.
After I left high school for college, I have taught many different courses in European History from Western Civilization to 1648, and from 1648-World War I, and from the end of World War I to the modern contemporary period.
Since I taught Global Studies in high school for many years, I am very familiar with the geography of Europe, Russia, East Asia, South and Southeast Asia.
After I left high school in 2009, I have taught Physical geography at Rockland Community College.
When I taught at Bronx Community College, I taught regional and economic geography.
Since I have a B.A. and M.A. in Political Science, I have many years of experience in teaching the subject.
When I taught middle school, I taught American Government. After I left middle school for high school, I taught U.S. Government to grade twelve and a college link program with Iona College which included American Government and World Politics.
I can also teach Advanced Placement U.S. Government.
Since I taught Writing Skills at the Middle School level, I have extensive experience in teaching Composition Writing.
When I taught high school for 26 years, I always demanded that my students write good grammatical essays and assigned research papers.
Since I now teach college, I tutor Writing Skills at Rockland Community College and assign many research papers to my history classes at Iona and Westchester Community Colleges.
Since I did major in Political Science at the undergraduate level, I have a B.A. degree in the subject. My M.A. degree is also in Political Science. I have taught American Government and Politics at the college and high school level for about 21 years. I am a former member of the American Political Science Association.
I taught Global Studies in high school from 1984 until 2009. I also taught Advanced Placement World History for three years along with A.P. European and World History. I am currently teaching Global, European, and U.S. History and American Government at Westchester Community and Iona College.
