Carolyn helped me study for a state test, covering grammar, spelling and definitions. She was great and I am happy to continue having her as my tutor.
English Second Language Teacher
I met Carolyn 3 years ago when moving from France to the US, on Long Island.
I already had some background in English but speaking was so difficult. So, my goal was to be able to speak more fluently and to improve my accent (because I’m French, you know...).
Carolyn does an amazing job.
First, the choice of the learning materials is very accurate and perfectly adapted to my needs, as we defined them together. Then, I can remember everything, I would say, every word, expression I’ve learnt with her, and phrases with the right pronunciation pop up easily.
The way she taught ESL is really customized to the learner so that progress is fast and really obvious. She is also a very nice person and someone you can have interesting discussions with, and we had a lot on many subjects that certainly helped me at improving my English and being confident when speaking.
Thanks to her, I’m now able to teach native English speakers and deliver courses, in my scientific domain, in English.
If you need to improve your English, whatever your goal is, I highly recommend you to contact her.
Carolyn worked well with my son. She was able to help him through an involved homework assignment. She also moved forward in the textbook introducing him to what he would see next in class.
Carolyn is the best!!!
She has worked with all 3 of my children and they really enjoy her lessons.
She is flexible, understanding and can make a good lesson out of any topic.
We are so happy to have her with us!!!
Carolyn has been great with Meghan. Meghan's French teacher has noticed a big difference. And Carolyn has been very accommodating with Meghan's schedule as well.
Carolyn has proven to be an amazing English tutor for my cousin who is here from Venezuela to study her English skills. She is very communicative, and has worked with us several times when we had scheduling problems. I see a terrific difference in my cousins English, and would highly recommend Carolyn. She is also extremely well priced!
Our lesson with Carolyn was very enjoyable and informative. Since my friend and I had recently completed a short introductory course in Italian, Carolyn took the initiative to inquire about the workbook we used in our class and then got a copy of that workbook so she could better evaluate our progress and determine our level of proficiency. We were very impressed that she took this additional time and energy to prepare for our lesson.
She is very good teacher because takes it step by step..
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
