About Ildefonso

I am a native speaker from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have a BA (SUNY Albany) on Latin American Studies and Economics (GPA 3.86), MS in Curriculum Development and Instructional Technology and MA Latin American Literature. I also have graduated from Moron University with a Business Degree equal to a BA.

I am a professional trainer with an expertise on issues regarding the Hispanic/Latino community. This expertise includes developing educational programs on cultural diversity and awareness.

Regarding school classes I have tough Spanish Regents Classes as well as proctoring such examinations. I know the testing procedures as well as its history and ways to approach the exam. I have traveling experience throughout South America and native material appropriate for both Spain and Latin American plans. I can offer a variety of lesson plans oriented to business from kindergarten. I also taught adult classes to both groups and individuals. As a teacher, I also taught ESL to students of all ages, backgrounds and walks of life. Moreover, I have a great deal of experience working with individuals who might require extra patience, care or alternative approaches to their learning experience.

In all I think that, with no doubts, I offer you a vivid experience of the language along with the formal knowledge of the language. Culture, idiom and fun come together to experience the Spanish Language as well as English.

Finally, I would like to stress that besides Spanish and English, my academic experience and professional work, I can assist individuals with many other subjects as you will see. Feel free to drop me a line to find out how can we collaborate to make your success achievable through your means and efforts.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Chess

Chess.

As in many countries, chess (ajedrez) is a popular game. In my case, I started playing since I was 5 years old. I played in through elementary school and high school. In addition, I have a chess tutor for most of my years in elementary 3rd grade to 7th grade. In my times, high school began in 8th grade and from there on; I began to play chess representing my high school. Though I never made it to the top three in any tournament, I feel strong enough on my abilities and skills.

In any case, as a teacher, I was part of the chess club in my school though since I was also the soccer coach the time given to the chess club was limited.

I feel that chess is more than a strategic game; it teaches patience and reasoning putting people's mind on the mind of someone else. This act helps to think ahead of the opponent as well as to see the world (the game) through the eyes of other. An understanding of the game is crucial but an understanding of us and others is as crucial in order to succeed in chess and in life.

Fitness

I played and coached soccer for more than 35 years. I coached high school and little leagues. Thus, I have trained as a soccer player and had given training as a coach. I also worked at the YMCA as a Fitness Coach at the FItness Center in one of the branches.

Public Speaking

I have an MS in Curriculum Development, a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Latin American Studies, a Bachelor's Degree in Business from BA, Arg. I have taught Spanish and ESL to both children and adults. Additionally, I did tutoring at my community college on English, Math, Social Science, World History and Latin American, and Sociology.

As a teacher, you do public speaking, since I am also a trainer consultant, engaging in public speaking is part of the work. In my past, I was in sales and marketing which included presenting in front of people. I had a graphic design company and I have been involved in the media business film and television production.

Soccer

As anyone with some world experience know, Argentina is one of the most important countries when it comes to soccer. To speak of Argentina without speaking of soccer in some degree is missing a big part of the popular culture.

I have watched and played soccer for pretty much most of my life. I have played in several leagues during both elementary school and high school. In addition, I played in the US with my college team at the community college I was attending (FMCC). I am enrolled in indoor leagues as well as outdoor leagues. Currently I played an outdoor in the Capital Region and I played in the Afrim's Leagues during the winter.

As a coach, I have completed Phase 3 of the NYS certification process to be a Soccer Coach in public schools. In addition, I have coached the JV team of my HS (Christian Brothers Academy).

In all, I believe I am qualify to pass on my knowledge and skills of this game onto others.

Social Studies

I have an MS in Curriculum Development, a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Latin American Studies, a Bachelor's Degree in Business from BA, Arg. Additionally, I did tutoring at my community college on English, Math, Social Science, World History and Latin American, and Sociology.

Study Skills

I have an MS in Curriculum Development, a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Latin American Studies, a Bachelor's Degree in Business from BA, Arg. I have taught Spanish and ESL to both children and adults. Additionally, I did tutoring at my community college on English, Math, Social Science, World History and Latin American, and Sociology.

I think that my educational experience and the level of achievement speak about my ability to study.
