The year before, I graduated from high school with an Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors. I am able to tutor students from the elementary to high school level (except history), as well as Introductory Chemistry for college students.

I used to volunteer at my local Chinese school. I would help the teacher. As her TA, I would help her communicate with her students, and I helped her students understand the material she teaches in class. Tutoring would be a great opportunity for me to better my communication with children, as my goal is to become a pediatrician someday.

Pleased to meet you!

Elementary (K-6th)

I volunteer at my local Chinese school were I help children ages five to nine understand the material taught in class. I understand that not every child is willing to sit for an hour and listen to the teacher talk on and on about things they don't care about. However, I have the energy and patience to handle these situations and won't leave until the task at hand is completed with good results.

Algebra 1,

Algebra 1

I took Algebra 1 as an advanced course in middle school and received an A in the class. The material I learned from Algebra 1 helped me pass my Algebra 2/Trig and Pre-Calc class in high school, as well as Calc 1 during my freshman year of college. In Algebra 1, students learn the basics of how to manipulate equations to solve for the unknown variables.

I learned piano for over 9 years and participated every year at NYSSMA for solo piano. The highest level I played for was level 6 NYSSMA, which I played for a couple years. My scores were never below 97. I also occasionally accompany performing students at the local Chinese school were I volunteer.

Swimming

I started swimming when I was about 6, and swam competitively for over 9 years with the New York Sharks. I had to stop competing due to a knee injury. I am able to help beginners learn how to swim, and help intermediate swimmers improve their technique.

Regents,

Regents

I graduated from high school with an Advanced Regents Diploma with Honors. The subjects I found easiest and most enjoyable were both science and math. I believe that by effectively preparing for the Regents, and understanding how to use the provided tables or readings, a student should have no problem passing with high marks.

Great Tutor

One of my daughters thought Vivian was wonderful and patient. My other daughter thought the communication between them was a bit difficult. Overall, we are looking forward to working with Vivian again.
