Adobe InDesign,

Adobe InDesign

I started using Adobe InDesign when it came out in 2005. A lot of the projects that were presented to me were file conversion from QuarkXpress 6.0 to the NEW InDesign. Although there are many differences in learning this new program, I found it easy to adapt too. I also began to teach InDesign at our local tech center as a series of classes. I did this for 3 years. Some of my students were from our local newspaper. I taught them out to convert files as well as build ads and editorials from scratch.

Photography

I have freelanced as a photo journalist for 10 years with our local newspaper. I would say my favorite photos to shoot are candids. I enjoy capturing the moment, the facial expressions and the over all experience of the events. As a photo journalist, your constantly on the run using different lens for different situations. Your working with low light, bright light, night time, day time, so you need to know your camera and how to shoot in the many different situations your in. Totally different than studio photography. It's fun and I love the challenge.

Desktop Publishing,

Desktop Publishing

I have been doing desktop publishing since the 90's when it first came out on the MAC! I can create anything from ads, posters, Point of Purchase advertisements, to brochures and magazines from scratch. I am great with logo and creation and branding.

Macintosh

I have been using a MAC since 1985! Yeah, that tiny screen you had to squint in order to see what you were creating! Since then I have graduated to a 27"! I have followed over the years how Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak have transformed this amazing design box from a industrial workhorse to a personal computer, with each step making it more user friendly. I am very capable of teaching on a MAC as well as PC. Just love the MAC more!
