I am a mother of 5 children all of whom I have guided through elementary school and beyond. I have experience with special needs children in the elementary level and worked as a special services aide in the Head Start Program. I have also been a therapeutic foster parent for more than 10 years and have worked extensively with elementary level students with therapeutic needs. I also worked for several years with developmentally disabled adults. As a High School student, I tutored elementary classes for extra credit and helped tutor foreign students with ESL program. I am the oldest of 6 and have always been in a position to teach and guide my younger siblings with their lessons. To this day, they call me to help their children (my nieces and nephews) with whatever lesson they may need some extra attention or assistance. I have taken many self study courses over the years to help communicate and reach children with various levels of disability. I believe in a hands-on, individual approach to education as we all learn in our own way. Patience really is a virtue and the 'light' that goes on when a student finally 'gets it' makes it all so rewarding.

Really kind person.

Katrina (Tina) is such a nice person. She has done well with my daughter, who has shown much improvement with Tina's help. Tina listens and can keep my child on task ( my daughter is very social and allows her to be easily distracted ). My daughter is mastering her times table and working on reading comprehension. Her accomplishments have improved her self esteem leading to her being more independent in her studies. It has only been a couple of months and I am happy with the progress I have seen.
