About Daniel

Hello there! I am a math and physics tutor looking to help kids and students understand and prepare for the material that is tested on very important exams, such as the SAT, SAT II, ACT, AP, and Regents. I love to tutor students that have a passion for their subject(s) because then it is almost guaranteed that the student will learn fast and receive a perfect, if not almost perfect, score on an exam. It does not matter how unprepared or "bad" the students are at math or physics, because the way I teach it makes most of the students shocked at how easy it can really be. These students with a 450/800 average on SAT Math tend to score 700+/800 and get 4's or 5's on the AP and 90+ after my tutoring sessions because I show them efficient ways to solve problems instead of just writing a theoretical statement and equation, which just leaves most students wondering and saying to themselves, "What in the world is this teacher talking about?"

I conduct tutoring for usually 2-4 hours per session. Most of the tutoring is problem solving since that is what the students actually need in order to completely understand a subject or topic. I also give follow up take home tests that are fairly hard that I make up. These tests cannot be found online. I grade the tests after completion and go over the answers with the student in depth. After a series of tutoring sessions, the student should be capable of acing any test.

A little bit about my educational background: I am currently majoring in Electrical Engineering in the Cooper Union, a small but prestigious engineering school in New York City. I have taken a lot of math and physics exams in High School and scored perfect in the majority of them.

The problem is not that student is bad at math or physics, but rather the student has a high potential but does not know how to apply simple equations to a problem. After getting a few problems down on paper with the student, the student begins to see how easy it actually is to do. My goal is to show how to make these problems that are seemed impossible to approach as very easy and very possible to complete.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

C

I am an electrical engineer with a strong foundation of programming in c and c++. I have taken many courses, including and up to Compilers. I daily make programs with Visual Studio in c/c++ (mostly c++) and am profound in applications of vectors, classes, objects, and memory writing in many anti-hacking game engines.

C++

I am a software engineer at Rubenstein Technology Group and I code in perl, php, c++, c, javascript, css, and html. I have been working here for 6 months so far and have had 3 years of experience in graduate level courses such as Data Structures and Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning, which all involve programming.

Regents

I was once a high school student in NYC and have taken many of the regents exams. I have scored 90+ on Trigonometry, Algebra I, Geometry, and Physics regents.

I tutor students in their desired regents courses to the best of my ability and see vast score improvements. I teach the students the material they need to know and then test the students with questions from actual previous regents exam in Physics, Algebra I , Geometry, and Trigonometry Regents. I also assign homework and tests to prepare the student for the NYC regents exams.
