My name is Stephanie and I have recently graduated from CUNY Hunter College with a Bachelors degree in English Language Arts. Aside from my academic career, I have worked with elementary and middle school youth along for four years at Maspeth Town Hall After School Program. My experience includes, but is not limited to, being an English tutor, a college writing tutor, a basketball and soccer coach, as well as the lead teacher for nutrition and business classes for middle school aged children.
Aside from my work with the after school, I also babysit, edit papers college undergraduate and graduate students in various colleges, and privately tutor to neighborhood children (ages 12-16).
I have a very well rounded background in that I have received an advanced arts diploma (for Drama) from Frank Sinatra School of the Arts along with a regents diploma, I have participated in organized sports (basketball and soccer) with my parish and outside leagues for 10 years, and have taking various trainings on classroom management and computer classes.
I have a very flexible schedule and all my lessons generally incorporate fun and innovative outside resources along with the required texts for the students from their schools.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
