Hi! I’m Jionna, a USC graduate with a degree in Law, History & Culture, where I graduated magna cum laude. Over the past four years, I’ve worked closely with high school students through both in-person and online tutoring, with a primary focus on AP U.S. History, AP Government & Politics, and AP World History. I also scored 4s and 5s on my own AP exams, which gives me a strong understanding of both the content and what it takes to perform well under real testing conditions.
My approach is very focused on actual exam performance. I regularly incorporate real AP-style questions and full-length practice tests into sessions so students become comfortable with the structure, pacing, and expectations of the exam. We go step by step through each section, including multiple choice, DBQs, LEQs, and SAQs, breaking down how to approach questions strategically and how to write clear, high-scoring responses. Some students need help strengthening content, while others are looking to refine their timing and test strategy, and I tailor sessions accordingly.
I aim to make the material feel structured, clear, and manageable while helping students build confidence in their ability to analyze and write effectively. Rather than relying on memorization, I focus on helping students understand patterns, themes, and cause-and-effect so they can approach unfamiliar questions with confidence. I also have experience working with middle school students in social studies and English, building strong reading, writing, and comprehension skills that support long-term academic success.
