I am a New York Certified English teacher and have taught reading, writing and speaking skills to students of every age, from elementary school through adults. I break down the learning process, so that students can master one skill at a time. I employ a variety of teaching methods to meet the needs of students with varied learning styles. I have taught in a wide variety of settings, including public and private schools, an online college and individual tutoring. I am a consultant to the Educational Testing Service and help develop SAT exams. I have also worked with business leaders, coaching them in writing and delivering important speeches.

Marsha always comes prepared with lesson plans. She is great to work with. She's very focused on finding my son's weak points and tries to help. I definitely recommend her to every one. She also has flexible schedules that is very convenience for working parents.
Thank you, Jennifer. It was a pleasure working with your son. Please feel free to call on me again if he is having difficulty in school.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
