Hi! My name is Do Hyun Daniel (I go by Daniel) and I am currently a 2L student at UCLA Law, with a BA in History from NYU. I have a wide range of experience in tutoring and working with students, and have taught high schoolers for standardized tests ranging from ACT/SAT to AP tests. As a member of my high school's peer-to-peer tutoring program, I spent multiple days after school teaching younger students in my high school in subjects that they were struggling in, with social studies-based classes (AP Government, AP US History, AP world history) being my forte. I am a strong believer that every student has a different pace in learning and struggles can be fixed by being patient, maintaining a positive outlook and keeping a steadfast focus on the goal - learning.
I have been tutoring mathematics at various levels of capacity for over 4 years now, with a keen specialty in standardized testing Math for the SAT and ACT. I received a 33/36 in the ACT Math section my senior year. My previous students have stated that they found the most improvement in their math section grades after our lessons, with an average increase of over 240 for the SAT and 6 points for the ACT after weeks of preparation.
I am a proficient English speaker, with experience in public speaking from various leadership positions at my high school and at my church. I also tested well on both my SAT Reading/Writing and ACT English/Reading sections, with a 710/800 on SAT Reading, 750/800 on SAT Writing, 33/36 for ACT Reading and 36/36 on ACT English. I specialize every one of my lessons for reading and writing based on the student's pace to allow them to learn as much as possible without feeling stress or disdain and have found that it allows for my students to not only enjoy their learning at their own comfortable speed but also receive the maximum utility of the lesson.
