Hello, I am Ryan. I am a staff accountant for over 17 years, but also I am an alumni from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) with four college degrees and highest honors (over 3.8 out of 4.0 GPA scale). In addition, I received numerous college awards - Academic Achievement Award, Citicorp Award of Excellence, Phi Kappa Phi Graduate Fellowship Nominee, RIT Outstanding Undergraduate Scholar Award, and Outstanding Student Award. While I was in my collegiate career, many great college professors taught me how to learn appropriately. Mastering a difficult concept requires patience, great effort, numerous practices, and solid discipline.

When I was a college student, RIT hired me to be a tutor for accounting students and I had been tutoring them for about five years. I worked with each student in the one-to-one educational setting. My teaching approaches were to emphasize the need of understanding concepts rather than memorizing facts, to encourage students how to visualize concepts mentally and apply them in various cases, to help students practice my examples, and to foster them do additional problems on their own. I drew pictures, flowcharts, and formula in different marker colors on the whiteboard in order to clarify the meaning of concepts. I always enjoyed watching students being successful with their homework assignments and incoming exams. I can tutor accounting, but also I can help anyone with questions about Microsoft Excel, high school algebra, and general math. My former boss considers me as an expert of Microsoft Office package since I, as a staff accountant, use Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access software everyday for producing financial reports for my company's upper management.

I plan to use my same teaching approaches for tutoring students today and I want to make sure that they will enjoy learning accounting, math, and Microsoft Excel very much with huge success. I am more than happy to take any suggestions from students and their parents about how they would learn their own subjects. You are welcome to use me as your tutor for getting additional help on your subject or scheduling a lesson with me. Please contact me before we can start working together. Have fun with learning!

P.S. I have a few more exciting facts to tell about myself. I also know ASL (American Sign Language) and Spanish. I enjoy various puzzle challenges (Sudoku, Rubik's cubes, 500 to 2,000 jigsaw puzzles, and brainteaser games, etc.).
