I am a math and science tutor from Levittown, New York. I graduated from the University of Delaware in 2013 with a Bachelors in Earth Science Education, and I am about to complete my Masters in Geological and Environmental Sciences. I am a math and science tutor from Levittown, New York. I graduated from the University of Delaware in 2013 with a Bachelors in Earth Science Education, and I am about to complete my Masters in Geological and Environmental Sciences. In these programs, I gained valuable knowledge not only in earth sciences, but in chemistry and physics as well. I have always been a strong student in math subjects, earning high scores on the SAT and GRE (164, in the 87th percentile). I also took the PRAXIS for teaching, and scored one point short of a perfect score in the math section.

Not understanding a subject is like trying to read a book with some pages missing. Highly frustrating, and you can't figure out the plot. I find that the best approach to tutoring a difficult subject is to help a student get to the point where they can explain the topic to me. This begins with finding the parts of said topic that the student has trouble understanding, and helping them see the topic as a whole.

For the past four years, I have tutored mainly grades 8-12 in subjects of algebra, geometry, trigonometry, earth science, chemistry, and physics, as well as test prep for the SAT, ACT and GRE in math. I first tutored a group of Education majors at the University of Delaware in 2012 for the PRAXIS math. Once out of Delaware, I tutored for three years with Club Z Tutoring, sometimes helping a student for only a few sessions, and sometimes for the entire school year.

I like to use visual representations to show my students how the math may apply to a real life situation. This helps them rationalize the numbers into something concrete (this applies to tutoring physics, too).

Science has always been my favorite subject to teach. I have a more extensive background in science subjects than any other, so I can explain the significance of each topic to my students with ease.

If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch with me. I am eager to help you excel in the classroom and on tests!

Very knowledgeable.

My daughter has had about six lessons now with Michael. He tutors her in honors physics and honors algebra 2. Michael is very knowledgeable and knows the material very well. He is also very good at explaining the content. They’ve gotten into a great routine where she knows to be prepared with any questions that she has from her lessons in school. He has a very good grasp of The common core concepts for algebra 2 and is able to help her with topics that she struggling with in school. Michael has a very calm demeanor and makes the lesson fun by referencing modern-day topics and connecting it to the subject.

Excellent and knowledgeable

Michael was able to teach my daughter and prepare her for Geometry Regents just in two hours. He reviewed everything she already knew and made sure to explain all the subjects she didn't feel good about. He is really a good tutor and doesn't waste time.

Very knowledgeable and patient

My daughter feels comfortable with how he teaches and how he presents himself. She is happy she chose him to help her prepare for the SATs and also will use him throughout her Senior year.
