Louis J. is currently an ABD PhD candidate who is studying Politics and Historical Studies at the New School for Social Research, engaged in questions around the themes of history, political theory, the history of political thought, Ancient Greece, the French and Haitian Revolutions, contemporary social movements, uprisings and insurrections, radical democratic theory, liberty and autonomy, antifascism, intersectional theory, race critical theory and affect studies. He also is a professor, writer, musician, and a community organizer.

Louis has organized with the Occupy Wall Street movement since its genesis in September 2011, helping to create and facilitate Solidarity NYC, Occupy Labor and the Mutual Aid Network, along with collaborating with the Yes Men and Reverend Billy. Louis has been awarded numerous travel grants for research. Louis's books and articles have been published by Public Philosophy Journal, Publication Studio, Zero Books, Public Seminar, Tidal: Occupy Theory, Dissent, Emma Magazine, Year Zero, The Hen and Daycaf Magazine.

Most of the political theorists in department, Politics at the New Schools for Social Research, were working on the Ancients.
