SUNY Albany (Economics)
Thank you for taking the time to read this profile. I enjoy helping students become more successful both in the classroom and in their everyday lives. In addition to tutoring students in Math, English, writing, sports activities, economics, computer literacy, and business I find it equally important to keep the concerned parents updated as to their childrens' progress. Whether you're a student who is struggling and wishes to pass, or you're a bright student who feels a need to be challenged, I can and will help you achieve your goals. My sisters and I come from a family of teachers, so I know how important it is to be as friendly and as patient as one possibly can. Please take advantage of both my experience and my enthusiasm as I coach you through your future academic success.

My rate is flexible; it depends on distance and takes into account the needs and/or the affordability of the student.
Paul is a wonderful tutor. He came prepared and had my daughter interacting right from the start. His abilities to communicate, review and teach are A+. My daughter's goal was to raise her SAT score. Paul was amazing, he went above and beyond our expectations. Every time he arrived, he had a lesson plan. Before he left he gave her more material to cover in his absence that he went over and corrected to make sure she understood. I enjoyed hearing the enthusiasm in their voices as they work together. My daughter loved working with Paul and we highly recommend him to anyone needing a qualified tutor!! Paul finished up working with my daughter and she was bursting with confidence, fully prepared to take the SAT test. The scores came back with an improvement of 160 points overall after only 3 weeks of tutoring! She went from a 460 to 550 in Reading, from 440 to a 480 in Math and from a 460 to 490 in writing. Had they had more than three weeks to work together I'm convinced the improvement would have been greater so my advice to parents looking for a great tutor, spare no expense, he's an excellent tutor with flexible hours. Don't wait until the last minute. Book him now, your child will improve! Teachers can not always understand your child in a sea of students, Paul can!
Obviously she improved but the vast improvement was the reward of a dedicated tutor. Thanks Paul!
Heidi fought hard and with great discipline. Without a doubt she will make you proud as her natural talents will soon establish a new niche in the writing community.
Paul has been a wonderful math tutor for our daughter, a senior in High School. She did well on her SAT the first time, but wanted to do even better the next time. After our first session with Paul she said, "I think I actually learned something!" He was very kind, clear and encouraging. She went into the exam feeling confident. I would definitely recommend Paul, and will surely use him again for our other daughter in the future.
I have tears in my eyes; students don't come ANY better than your daughter!
Paul has met with our son twice now and we are extremely pleased with how things are going. Paul is always prompt and upbeat. He put my son at ease immediately and has made the tutoring experience fun and inspiring. Paul is calm, clear and very patient. Our son atually looks forward to his tutoring sessions. Couldn't be better.
I have had only one session with Paul. Paul came prepared and was able to give me tips on how to solve some problems. He is friendly and knowledgeable, comfortable to be with and puts you at ease.
I am an older student with a degree in Dental Hygiene and Arts and Humanities. I am currently finishing up another degree in Management and desperately need to pass this algebra class; its my LAST CLASS!!! He is very patient and is always looking for an easier way to teach me so that I will retain the information. He is always on time and can be reached via email.
We can't say enough about Paul; except that it is unfortunate we did not meet him two years earlier. In 2010, we hired several tutors through WyzAnt and frankly it was a hit or miss. None however come near the caliber of Paul. Our first child did benefit and showed some improvement working with his tutors. However my husband and I are unequivocally in that our second child, a high school senior, is learning life-time skills. To say Paul is a great tutor is unjustice; he by far is the best we have come across. His knowledge in several subject matters has been a clear asset. We are very fortunate to have engaged him in long-term relationship to help educate our son.
My daughter was feeling nervous about the math portion of the SAT. We had Paul work with her and she went into the exam with greater confidence and did very well. We would recommend Paul for his ability to explain difficult subject matter in a way that reaches his students.
Paul is a very conscientious teacher that really loves working with students. I would not hesitate hiring him again.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Business Administration was my minor at SUNY Albany. I have an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Clinton Community College with a 3.88 GPA.
As a 31-year veteran of the restaurant business I have worked in ALL areas where food is concerned. Fine dining restaurants, industrial and commercial kitchens, large hotels, privately owned companies, pizzarias, organic food kitchens, breakfast only diners, and high volume catering outfits are just a few working environments I have experienced throughout my career.
As a teacher of the culinary arts, I am also one of its most dedicated students. Something has to be learned every day, or the day isn't as productive as it could be. That's my philosophy about cooking: be a student every day!! So, if cooking is either your passion or your future profession, please share in my enthusiasm for food. You'll leave feeling like you accomplished A LOT!
As a graduate from SUNY Albany with a major in Economics, I have a serious passion for what most would consider a very difficult and dry subject: Economics.
As a former empoyee with Huntington Learning Schools in Fayetteville, NY, I have had the priviledge of making a difference in the lives of dozens of inner city students from the Syracuse area. These young students ranged in age from 5 (kindergarten) to 14 (grade eight). The Fayetteville branch of HLC has received top honors as having the #1 rated learning school of all the HLC's across the country.
After spending a year working with K-6 students at Huntington Learning Center in Central New York, I have come to LOVE working at the Elementary school level. I am in awe of their efforts, and of how hard all the students try to improve. Therefore, it is with great honor that I offer my services to those in need of Elementary Math help.
After spending the better part of my life as an exercise enthusiast, I got certified as an athletic instructor at SUNY New Paltz back in 1994. It was here when I realized I had a knack for understanding how nutrition affects the performance of an athlete. I am without question one of THE most conscientious and healthiest eaters I know. In addition to holding these qualities to be sacred, I have helped those who train as runners, tri-athleletes, weight lifters and much much more to become more aware of the science of nutrition and how it affects us mentally, physically, and spiritually.
Back in 1971 my father, Ralph, won the most prestigious Bridge tournament in the U.S.: The Golder Pairs. It was then, and also after learning of how successful he was winning thousands of dollars per year playing poker, that I took an interest in card playing. As a young boy I would stay up late watching, learning, and afterward playing against him and his adult friends at the card table. By the time I turned 21 I had already played in hundreds of poker games and had established myself as a ranking intermediate player.
About 10 years ago I discovered "No-Limit-Texas-Hold-Em" and have been participating in table games locally and otherwise. About 2 weeks ago I participated in an online tournament with over 6,000 total participants and finished in the top 10% in 617st place! My home is a welcome area to those of all ages who wish to learn good poker playing!! My goal in the near future is to qualify for the WSOP Grand Championship as soon as possible. So, if this sounds attractive to any of you, let's get a game started!!
Of all the subjects offered in school, math scores seem to weigh most heavily on the minds of would-be college administrators who look at applications submitted by students these days. It is with great honor that I offer my help and expertise in ALL areas of mathematics; especially SAT math.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read my profile. Academic success isn't far away!
This year I celebrate the beginning of my third successful year tutoring SAT test preparation for Wyzant. The amount of required preparation for this area of learning is staggering, yet I take it on graciously; teaching/tutoring is a labor of love!
