About Brad

I have been a creative director and Macintosh consultant of my own studio for more than 25 years.
My skills range from creating branding, to designing all kinds of collateral material including but not limited to
logos, trade show booths, corporate catalogues, website design and SEO, Macintosh trouble shooting, repair, and optimization. I'm proficient in digital photography and manipulation, and everything related to design and concept.

I have had large businesses as clients including: New York University, Swiss Army Knives (Forschener Inc.) Sara Lawrence College, Minolta USA, to small businesses such as the Westchester County Association and the Child Care Council of Westchester. My awards for excellence in Graphic design include the American Graphic Design Award, The IRSA Marketing Award, The Averill Harriman Award, several Advertising Club of Westchester Awards, among others.

I know how to install and troubleshoot a Macintosh computer, how to diagnose problems, how to teach the novice how to start using a Macintosh, as well as being proficient in Photoshop, InDesign, and a host of other programs

You may contact me and discuss your needs, I will then create a class or lesson based solely on your needs.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Graphic Design

I have been a creative director, art director, graphic designer of my own studio for more than 28 years. My clients include both large and small businesses including Swiss Army Knives, New York University, Olympus USA, Sarah Lawrence College, among others. My expertise is in all areas including, advertising design, corporate identity, brochures, stationery, tradeshow booth design, posters, book covers, logos, direct mail, photography & montage, promotional videos and much more. I have won several awards including the American Graphic Design Award, IRSA Marketing Award, Advertising Club of Westchester Award, Averill Harriman Award, among others.

My tutoring style is fluid, working with the creative style of those I am teaching, as well as working to help unblock areas in which students may feel insecure. I teach design programs such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and much more and encourage my students to trouble shoot and look for the answers (with guidance) in the documentation to encourage independence. I focus on all areas including typography, color, dimension, pre-press, spatial relationship as well as the audience the individual is targeting. I teach the basics to those that are beginners as well as those that are more advanced. I encourage individuals to tap into their intuitiveness as well as maintaining focus. My purpose is to teach at the level of understanding and comfort level of each individual.

Macintosh

I have had my own Macintosh-based design and marketing studio for more that 25 years. To avoid the high costs of Macintosh repair, I learned everything there is to know about maintaining, troubleshooting and upgrading my computers. As I became proficient, design agencies would hire me to not only fix and trouble shoot their Macs, but also help with their production work while one or more of their Macs were down. I now fix and maintain Macs, as well as teaching the basics to more complicated processes. This includes iPhones and iPads.

My style is fluid, which means that I work with the personal comfort level of every student I teach. I encourage questions no matter how ridiculous they may seem. I also speak in down to earth every day language that is easy to understand. That to me is the key to learning and understanding. I work at the speed of the comprehension level of the individual yet also encourage taking extra steps that lead to self confidence. I find that many students have difficulty learning, not because they lack the ability, but lack the confidence in believing that they can achieve.

My teaching lessons are customized around the needs of the student. There is no other way to teach.
