Art

Adobe Illustrator,

Adobe Illustrator

Adobe’s Illustrator software is a very helpful tool used to render images and to create vector art. I've used Illustrator to illustrate catalogs and children’s books, layout interior plans and architectural elevations, render style patterns and to create t-shirt designs, greeting cards and word art. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Design and nineteen years of experience working with Adobe Illustrator software.
Adobe InDesign,

Adobe InDesign

InDesign is a software application used for digital publishing projects. I have used InDesign to layout booklets, brochures, flyers, grocery circulars, ePub books and print book layouts, postcards, instruction guides and term papers requiring charts and graphs! I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Design, and seventeen years of experience working with InDesign software. InDesign file sizes are often large, but it is an irreplaceable resource because the InDesign software easily imports and combines pictures, video, XML files and text!
Adobe Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop

Photoshop is an imaging and editing tool. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Design and nineteen years of experience working with Photoshop. I mostly use Photoshop to enhance photographs, design posters, signs, advertisements and to prepare images for use on the Web or on a website. Photoshop can also be used to render special effects, 3 dimensional forms and to enrich architectural interiors and elevations.

Business

Microsoft Excel,

Microsoft Excel

Proficiency in Excel is a requirement in many career areas. Excel is a great software tool to use to calculate, organize and summarize general data, collect sales results and generate impressive charts and tables. I mostly use Excel for invoicing but in my past, I have used it to calculate cost and profit charts. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Design and eleven years of experience working with Excel, I find it to be a great software to work with.

Proficiency with PowerPoint is often a requirement in many career areas, and it is the most popular presentation software next to Macintosh’s version called Keynote. I personally use PowerPoint to create slideshows of portfolio work for presentations. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Design and years of experience working with PowerPoint. These slideshow presentation software applications perfect any lecture or presentation!
Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word is an indispensable software application, and along with Excel; it is a requirement in many career areas. I work with Microsoft Word on a daily basis, from an everyday use as a simple word processor for generating text, to composing a simple eBook. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Design and years of experience working with Microsoft Word. I find Microsoft Word to be an irreplaceable software to have as part of my software application’s library.

Desktop Publishing is the process of creating refined page layouts for print and the Web. Today, most software applications have been designed to include DTP capabilities and this allows individuals, businesses, and organizations to print their own print collateral, newsletters, books and newspapers in-house. In the design profession, creative artists are trained to implement desktop publishing best practices. I've employed desktop publishing best practices for nearly all of the nineteen years of my professional practice because it is such an important element in marketing and advertising.

Excellent service

I needed someone to come to my office right away. Ginny responded promptly to an emergency situation and did an excellent job explaining what we needed to know.

Daniel, 1 lesson with Ginny

Knowledgeable InDesign tutor.

Ginny taught me a lot about InDesign. Very satisfied. We did a replication of an old magazine that was incredibly helpful to my creative process. Jenny showed me lots of the tools and what they are used for. Jenny is excellent.

Ginny is extremely knowledgeable and patient!

Ginny helped me with so many things! She showed me difference between Pages and Word and how to change a Pages file to a pdf. She showed me how to use google drive and explained the benefits of google chrome. She helped me understand how to better organize my files and to use bookmarks. And much more. She was patient and easy to work with and didn't make me feel uncomfortable about how little I know regarding my Mac.

Tutored in InDesign

Working with Ginny was very comfortable. She was knowledgeable and communicated effectively and respectfully (not true of all geeks). I look forward to doing more work with Ginny.

REGINA, 3 lessons with Ginny

Very Patient

Ginny was patient, and helpful to complete my home work assignment. I plan to call for her help again in the near future.

Great Tutor

Ginny helped me to get started with web design and was very knowledgeable about her field. It will take me a while, because I am a slow learner, but she is patient and kind. Thank you, Ginny! I look forward to meeting with you again!

Gillian, 5 lessons with Ginny

Thorough and knowledgeable!

Ginny is an excellent teacher. She is patient and explains procedures first and then has you replicate the process, which is great for someone like me who learns by doing more than by reading how-to.

Rosemarie, 6 lessons with Ginny

Very patient and responsive

Ginny was very helpful and guided me through the basics. I appreciated her patience and encouragement. Sometimes I felt as though there was not a real system or structure to her tutoring of a real novice like me, and it would have been great to have had a bit more of a lesson plan, but she responded quickly and well to any of my questions and to my needs. I would definitely (and will) work with her, again. I've already used a number of the tips and lessons that she taught me just a few days ago.
